EMPOWERING LIVES THROUGH

KISARU NKERA INITIATIVES (KINI)

Rescue a Child ~ Bless a Community

In many Maasai communities, children face life threatening challenges, from early marriages and female genital mutilation (FGM) to harsh realities of poverty and neglect. Too often, these practices rob children of their childhood, education, and the chance to dream.

Kisaru Nkera Initiatives (KINI), founded in 2012 by Barbara Parkins, was created to break this cycle. We rescue children form harmful traditions, provide orphans and vulnerable families with food, healthcare, and education, and create a safe environment where every child can thrive.

Over the past decade, KINI has supported more than 300 children, some finding shelter at our KINI home, others strengthened within their families through our community programs. Our work is sustained entirely through the generosity of global donors and well-wishers who believe in giving every child the dignity of safety, love and opportunity.

Together, we can end child marriage, protect girls from FGM, and give hope to those who need it the most.

You can support KINI’s mission by donating through our GoFundme Page. Every contribution makes a difference in the lives of these children.

Thanks to your generous donations and charitable support, KINI was able to officially open an academy school in 2019, starting from Kindergarten. This school has become the flagship project among the many initiatives undertaken by KINI.
