Kids Who Need Sponsors
Stephen Kennedy Otieno
Stephen was part way through Form 3, 5 years ago when both his parents passed away and he had to live with his grandmother and had to leave school because she had no way to pay his fees. To support them he took on various jobs and was working as a servant for a local business man who recognised his ability and sent him once again back to Class 8 in primary school. Unfortunately as he was to attend secondary school this man left for a different town and he was once again left out of school. He returned to his grandmother and rather than stay out of school returned again the following year to Class 8 where the teachers cared for his needs as much as possible. Sadly his grandmother passed away and he no longer had any family to care for him. The teachers of the school bought him a uniform and brought him to Kanga Boys however, the Principal turned him away as he had no fees or any help at all. The Head Teacher saw his potential and quietly let him attend school. When Barbara met him he had only 2 pens to use in school and very few personal effects or school needs. Stephen is now top of his class with straight A’s. He has no home and no one to care for him but a kind man who works in the Mara has taken him into his own home during holidays.
